Confucious said, "only idiots use quotes to the solidify their arguments."

You are correct, Confucous did not say that, but that point is irrelevant. Why I am really writing in is ask, plead and beg that you all stop using quotes to start, end, or just to spice up the body of your letters to the editor. It only makes you sound pompous.

We are not fooled by your use of dead people's verbage to make your point. We do not stop right there, discount everything else that you say and move on simply because you happen to say something that a dead person once said.

Stand up for yourself. Stand up for your opinions and let them sit upright on their own. If you do not believe in what you are going to say and actually NEED someone else to make the point for you- then stop. stop writing. stop thinking. And let sleeping dogs lie because it is obvoious to the rest of us that you are seriously lacking in content and backbone.
