Presidential candidates make their way through Oregon

With Oregon's primaries getting closer, presidential candidates and their supporters are making their way through Oregon more so than in recent years.
In the past, presidential candidates have mostly not bothered to campaign in Oregon during the primary season because Oregon's primaries are held so late in the year, usually after a candidate has been chosen.
Both democratic candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are campaigning through Oregon as they seek to get as many of Oregon's 65 delegates at stake as possible.
Republican candidate John McCain has even made appearances in Oregon. He visited businesses in Northeast Portland this past Monday where he criticized current President George W. Bush and pitched his plan for controlling global warming.
Former President Bill Clinton made another trip through Oregon recently, attempting to strike up support for Sen. Clinton in no less than twelve different Oregon cities over the period of May 12-14. President Clinton came close to Monmouth again as he made a speech from the back of a truck at the Lincoln Elementary School playground in Corvallis.
One Corvallis resident commented "it was interesting where they decided to hold the rally. There was a trailer park across the street and some of the tenants came out with a beer in their hand wondering what the heck was going on."
They chose to hold the rally at the elementary school due to cultural diversity and minority representation, according to school principal Oscar Moreno-Gilson.
Sen. Clinton also made a brief trip to Oregon on May 8-9, making stops in Central Point and Portland before she headed to West Virginia to secure victory in that primary.
Sen. Obama also visited Oregon May 9 and 10, appearing before a large group of 8,000 people at the University of Oregon. Before Obama left Bend to head back to Chicago he was quoted in the Oregonian as saying, "Oregonians, it's your turn. It's your turn to stand up and say it's time for change."

Where's the substance in Barack. Well outside of rising from a working class background to be president of the Harvard Law Review & then going back to Chicago to help working people organize to defend their rights, going to the state legislature & getting them an earned income tax credit and health care for their children, going to the US Senate & getting the leaders to post their doings where the people could see oh & opposing the Iraq war which has killed so many of our best young people, not much.
