Are you tired of the same old tunes on the radio? Are you tired of music (and music reviews) that recycle the same old artists over and over and actually try to convince you that their music and their sound are new and relevant? If you feel this way you need to try your hand at local musicians. These men and women truly need your support and are struggling to make it doing what they love.

One such artist is Fury For The Son who has just released their debut self titled album. Currently, Fury For The Son is comprised solely of singer/songwriter Anthony King from Oregon City. King's intensely raw vocals are reminiscent of older material from Bright Eyes and at times he even manages to channel the eerie wale of Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba. Even more impressive is that King plays all parts on the album from piano to guitar to vocals to drums; King makes them all flow beautifully together to produce a very professional and inspiring sound.

Highlights of the album include songs such as "Stairs and Streets" which features the only guest vocalist on the album, Desirae King, whose soft angelic voice compliments the singer's perfectly. "Day Trip" will have you singing along almost instantly with its infectious chorus and soft vocals. I guarantee both of these songs, and others, will catch your attention immediately and not let go.

King sites Brandon Boyd of Incubus as his main influence stylistically while employing more abstract song writing. His lyrics don't just focus on the standard heartache and breakups as most musicians around our age do, but he dives deeper using more metaphors and abstract ideas to convey the depth of his material.

Anthony King is currently on tour with another band but will be working on new material very shortly as well as finding permanent backing members for Fury For The Son.
