Most of you are aware of the many athletic teams which our school supports, mainly recognized teams such as football, baseball, soccer, volleyball and track. However many of us who do not compete within these sports do intramural sports and club athletics. As you well know all sponsored sports of our school and intramural sports have their own fields within the campus. What our school does not have is specific fields for the club sports; men's and women's rugby and men's lacrosse (United Club Coalition) to play on.
However within the recent year there has been 65 thousand dollars set aside for the development of an exclusive rugby field as well as lacrosse field just beside the current intramural fields on university land. This money has already been set aside for the field's development thanks to our current ASWOU staff and will cost the students no extra money for its creation.
What we of the United Club Coalition are asking of you students is that you support us in our efforts to get these fields developed within the next several months. As of right now the development these fields is scheduled to remain unfinished until this following fall term. Within the next couple of weeks members of the men's rugby team, women's rugby team and men's lacrosse will be around campus asking for your signature on a petition to the Western Oregon staff to get this project rolling as soon as possible. We ask that you allow for a few moments of your time to sign the petition and support our club's futures.
