By Oct. 17, it is the goal of ASWOU to register 1,050 students. Then we will turn around and get those same students to become educated and dedicated voting students.
I say "goal," but a more accurate term is "reality." ASWOU will make this reality: We will have 1,050 newly registered voters here on campus this year. Plus, don't be deceived by my usage of "reality," because we are not going to stop there. If, on Oct. 16 at midnight you still want to register to vote and we have already reached our goal, you are still in luck! In the words of Bob Barker, "Come on down!"
We have close to 4,000 students on our campus, and I would love to have each and every single one of you register to vote. This year's election will play a huge part in your current college career and a larger role in your life after college. The louder the student voice is, the better our outcome will be. And how do you make that voice loud, you may be asking? REGISTER to vote, EDUCATE yourself, and VOTE in every election.
I urge all of you to stop by the ASWOU offices and register to vote €" of course we will be out there on campus asking you, but don't be afraid to come to us and tell us you want to register. Our voice is way too important to not scream out with what students want. Please make sure you register; it will only take a minute and the entire ASWOU staff will help you along in the process.

November 7th, 2006 is the last day to vote.
