A Year In Review

As the 2009-2010 school season wraps up, "The Journal" staff re-caps a few of their top news stories for the year.

ASL/Interpreting professor re-instated as of Jan. 22 (2/10/10) Winter term at Western began with a rocky start for many ASL/Interpreting students as they discovered their schedules had been altered in accordance with the absence of ASL/ Interpreting professor, Carl Schroeder.

As the school year comes to an end, one student that has really stood out among the rest is graduating senior Kimber Saville. Her undergraduate degree has concluded with her receiving the Julia McCulloch-Smith Award for Outstanding Graduating Female. Every year there is just one student chosen to receive this prestigious award, and it is based upon many different categories.

William "Billy" Davis, Delmer Dewey

Most college students work an odd job here or there while attending classes; not many can say they worked full-time at night while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and receiving several distinguished academic awards, however. William "Billy" Davis is the most recent recipients of the Delmer Dewey Award.
