"He has reached the age where he has realized he is different from other kids. He wanted to go to the doctor, so the doctor could make him better. I want him to be able to handle being autistic, to know it is a part of his being," said Tiffany Cates, a student whose son is autistic.
The theater is pitch black. Slowly, the lights begin brightening. On stage stands an older woman-- an adult Scout Finch, perhaps in her fifties. The story of "To Kill A Mockingbird" begins to unfold, as a tale of injustice, racism, violence and family bonds is told before a nearly-filled theater.
