It is one of the biggest hurdles to the question, "Why can't we all just get along?" Fundamentalism causes individuals to close their minds and adhere to a set of specific beliefs. It is described by Webster's dictionary as "a movement or attitude stressing strict and literal adherence to a set of basic principles.

ASWOU President encourages absolving ill feelings, moving on

ASWOU has been haunted by events from prior years for some time now. We feel it is important to discuss some of these concerns and address the future of this organization. Many people have harbored ill feelings and felt disenfranchised by past actions of ASWOU or from members within it.

Dear Associated Students of Western, As many students on campus are aware, ASWOU recently ran a six-week Get Out The Vote campaign with the goal to register as many WOU students as possible before the deadline. Over the course of the campaign, ASWOU registered 1,061 students by tabling, phone banking, and knocking on over 400 doors! In addition, after the registration deadline, we gave 24 ballot measure presentations, and in the days leading up to election, we made over 2000 calls to students to remind them to turn in their ballots.

Volleyball season over for Wolves

Western's conference champion volleyball team had an abrupt end to its season, losing in the first round of the NCAA West Region tournament to Cal Poly-Pomona in straight sets on Thursday, Nov. 18. Western finished 22-3 in the season after dropping its first round match for the second consecutive year.
