WOU College Republicans hold third annual Support the Troops Week

For the third year in a row, the Western Oregon University College Republicans (WOUCR) have hosted "Support the Troops" week. The week is meant to show students how they can support America's troops even if they do not support the War in Iraq. For the duration of the week May 12-16, the WOUCR hosted two booths in front of the Werner University Center.

Despite losing a shot at his party's nomination several weeks ago, Ron Paul is continuing his campaign for the U.S. Presidency. Ron Paul is a Republican from Texas who gained notoriety for calling on the US to pull out of the war and also by setting a record for political donations gained in one day---$6 million in a 24-hour period this past December.

Q. Where are you from? A. I'm originally from Los Angeles. I lived there until I was 26. Where did you go to school? For my undergraduate, I went to Cal State, Long Beach; I went for my masters at Cal Poly in Pomona, and to the University of Nevada, Reno, for my PhD.

Presidential candidates make their way through Oregon

With Oregon's primaries getting closer, presidential candidates and their supporters are making their way through Oregon more so than in recent years. In the past, presidential candidates have mostly not bothered to campaign in Oregon during the primary season because Oregon's primaries are held so late in the year, usually after a candidate has been chosen.

As President, I have a plan to make the American Dream possible to every student. First, I will make aid easier, work to hold college costs down and strengthen our community colleges.
